Our Story
Hobart Bead Co’s home is nestled in the centre of Old Hobart town. We opened a stand at Salamanca Market in 2012 and opened our city shop a year later. We further expanded into the historic town of Richmond about 20 mins from Hobart in 2015.
We stock a large range of beads, gemstones, pearls, metal and 925 silver findings. We also sell fossils and crystals from around the world.
Beading and Jewellery repairs + Custom made jewellery are a large part of our business. If you have a broken necklace, earrings, or bracelet bring it into our shop. We repair onsite and our prices start from as low as $12.00.
Serpentine Stichtite , sometimes known as Atlantasite is a major part of our life. It is unique and rare, only to be found in a small area within Mount Dundas on the west coast of Tasmania. We collect the rock, cut, shape and design here locally in Hobart. There is nothing more exciting than having a dirty rough piece of serpentine, slicing it and finding an amazingly beautiful green/purple gemstone underneath.
Tasmanian Serpentine makes the perfect gift for anyone. Either as a pendant, bracelet, pair of earrings, ring, necklace or a polished specimen. We always use the best quality 925 silver with our jewellery.
